Superman and Batman will join forces in a new film, the LA Times reports, for a film that will act as a follow-up to "Man of Steel," with a release date of 2015 set. The studio intends to announce the exciting news during its Saturday (July 20) Comic-Con panel.

THR confirms the report, saying the film will be directed by Zack Snyder and will feature the return of Henry Cavill as Superman. It's unclear who will step into the Batsuit, as Christian Bale as indicated that he's done with the role. David Goyer, who co-write "Man of Steel," will write the script.

A Warner Bros. spokesperson tells the LA Times, "We don't comment on rumors regarding these properties." Only time will tell, we suppose.
