'Supernatural': Mary and Ellen return, Sam and Dean meet Eve

spn-mom-320.jpg "Supernatural" fans, we hope you enjoyed the comedic meta episode, "The French Mistake," because there won't be too many laughs for Sam ( Jared Padalecki) and Dean ( Jensen Ackles) from now until the finale. Last week's episode, "...And Then There Were None" set the tone for the rest of the season. Things are about to get angsty.

When the show returns from its spring hiatus on April 15, some familiar faces are coming back from the dead, and as any demon hunter knows, that's rarely a good sign. Samantha Smith returns as Mary Winchester, Sam and Dean's long-dead mother. The last time we saw her, she was a scary shadow of herself in heaven.

Now, her return is especially troublesome, especially since Sam just shot her father. "What would Mom say?" Sam asked his brother in the last episode. Perhaps we're about to find out. Dean doesn't look too thrilled to see his beloved mom in the promo photos.

Also returning to the show is Samantha Ferris as Ellen Harvelle -- though we're bummed that her daughter Jo isn't likely to join her.

That's two dead moms back in the mix -- no doubt the work of Eve ( Julia Maxwell), the Mother of All. She'll have her first encounter with Sam and Dean in this episode, disguised as a waitress at one of their usual diner stops.

This episode was swapped with the upcoming old west episode, which was originally slated to air n April 15 but has now been bumped to April 22.
