'Survivor's' Caleb Bankston, Colton Cumbie's fiance, killed in a railway accident

The Associated Press first reported of the accident at the Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham and now People has confirmed that Bankston was the victim. Details about the accident are not available at this time.

Bankston was a popular player with fans during his time on "Survivor," offering a redemption of sorts for his partner Colton Cumbie, who was not as popular with fans after his previous time on the show. The two were planning on getting married this fall, Bankston told Zap2it in his "Survivor" exit interview.

"Colton and I ... are planning our wedding for Oct. 11, 2014 in Connecticut and then comes the starting of the house build and then we will be looking into surrogacy as soon as he finishes his student teaching and graduates school in May 2015," said Bankston at the time.
