'Survivor: Nicaragua's' Jill Behm: 'I just got stuck on a sucky team'
Are you glad you went on "Survivor"? Was it everything you hoped it would be?
"I'm a huge fan, I've been applying since 2002. I go way back with "Survivor." It was everything I thought it would be and then some. It was so much more difficult than I thought it would be, which is saying something because I'm sort of tough in terms of my physical and outdoors background. But the experience of being out there, the fantastic people I met, it was just an amazing experience. I have nothing but positive things to say about it."
What did you think of the initial older/younger split? Did you think it put your tribe at a disadvantage?
"Initially I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. I was a little bit worried about my tribe, but as it turns out, they've intereviewed the challenge engineer and they actually went out of their way to make less physical cahllenges and more odd skill challenges. There was no one-on-one, knocking each other down challenges, which was disappointing to me because I would've been great at that."
"When we quickly started losing, both as Espada first then on La Flor, I became real disenchanted with it. I don't think it had anything to do with age, I think I just got stuck on a sucky team. You saw yesterday, with the water polo ball thing, I was winning and no one else was. What do you do when you're doing great and everybody else stinks?"
When Marty gave Sash the Idol, did he talk it over with you since the two of you were aligned, or was Tribal Council when you found out he had given it away?
"They're not showing a lot of Marty and I for some reason. Marty and I were in an equal partnership. When we did things, we were completely 100% loyal to each other. When we did things, we talked them over and came to a consensus on what was good for Marty and Jill. We knew we were in trouble and one of us was going home, so he came to me and said this is what they suggested, what do you think? I basically said you might as well give Sash the Idol because you might curry favor and you might get it back. They haven't broken any promises to you yet and if you play it, then it's gone. In retrospect, no option was real good, but he definitely told me. We discussed it and I knew I was going home at that point. Sash actually came to me too and said this is what's going to happen, I knew what was going on."
Once you were voted off, who were you rooting for? Anyone besides Marty?
"You know, I am such a fan of the show that I'm not caught up in .... I can respect good game play. Obviously Holly and I had our moments, we got off to a bad start ... but she's moved past that, she's made some smart alliances, so I would actually, if Marty can't win it all, I would be in favor of Holly going far."
Do you have any messages to your fans or just fans of the show in general?
"Just thank you for all the love and support I've gotten. I've got soccer moms emailing me form Iowa and then I have WWII veterans hugging me at work and telling me how proud they are of me. I don't have a million dollars, but I have all that support and that's pretty great."
