'Survivor: South Pacific's' Mikayla Wingle: Ozzy is 'absolutely nuts'
Are you glad you did "Survivor"? Was it everything you hoped or expected it to be?
"Oh my gosh, it was everything and more. You think, 'Oh yeah, yeah, I'm gonna be on Survivor, awesome' and then it's day 7 and you're like 'I'm starving, what was I thinking?!' This show has taught me so much, showed me how strong I can be ... I'm a very trusting person and it just shows some people in this world aren't going to like you."
Speaking of people who don't like you tell us about Brandon. He had you pegged as quite the "scarlet woman."
"Oh my gosh, could you believe him? My family and my friends were like dying laughing. I'm the biggest tomboy. You put me in a situation to flirt, I like stutter, I don't know what to say. It's funny because that's not me and the fact that he labeled me as that definitely stunk. It kinda made me laugh. He's young and he has no idea. It stinks that it reflected on me, but it just shows you ... what are you gonna do?"
Last night more than any other night we saw how religious Upolu is as a tribe. Was that going on the whole time or did it really just come on at this point in the season?
"Well, every morning we'd get up and say a prayer, but I wanted last night's episode and I was like, 'Holy smokes!' I think the main reason Coach plays up the religious thing is for Brandon's sake. That's the only level he can connect on with Brandon and he's using it to his advantage."
I don't know your religious beliefs, nor does it matter, but you seemed less intense about it than Coach and Brandon. Did it make you feel like an outsider?
"I don't think so. I think the only people that were intense were those two. When they would get going, the rest of us would just kind of look at each and be like, 'Here we go.' They were more the outsiders, but we didn't want to get on anybody's bad side so we just kinda went with it."
What do you think of Ozzy's big move?
"He's crazy. Aboslutely nuts ... Christine's a powerhouse right now. Physically, running climbing, yes, Ozzy can beat her. But you put it down to a puzzle? Christine's a teacher. That's what she does. She's a mental person. What could happen? They get a puzzle and he's like 'What?' and she knocks it out."
Who are you rooting for to make it to the end?
"Obviously Christine. I told her, give 'em hell. And I told Albert and Sophie, when Christine gets back in this game, you guys better side up with her. I don't care how you want to tell people about it, if you have to lie or whatever, but you have my word she'll be loyal to you. Christine, Albert and Sophie. I really hope they bring it home."
Any final thoughts or messages to your fans?
"I definitely tried to stick to my morals. The thing I'm proud of the most is I never lied, I never blindsided anybody. I have a lot of younger siblings and I try to show them that this is the right thing to do and that they can look up to me. I try to be a positive role model. I want people to think, 'She's a good person'"
