jeff-probst-survivor-caramoan-2.jpg "Survivor: Caramoan" offered what is maybe the craziest Tribal Council in the history of the show Wednesday night (April 17), when Malcolm busted out two hidden Idols, keeping his entire alliance safe and forcing Stealth R Us to scramble on the spot.

Phillip was ultimately sent home, which is both a relief and a bummer. Host Jeff Probst tells EW he loves Phillip and was sad to see him go.

"Any time Phillip says anything, anything at all, I'm interested ... while I most certainly have empathy for his fear of water, because it didn't seem to bother him in earlier water challenges, I also have a healthy amount of skepticism about his true motive," says Probst.

"It may very well be true that he simply cannot do certain things in the water and if that's the case it's a tragedy," he continues. "I am firmly planted in the 'love me some Phillip' camp -- and I'm sorry to see him go. But boy, does it open up a whole new game."

That's exactly what we're counting on -- very excited for next week's episode, though we must also acknowledge what huge move Malcolm just pulled off.

"I love big moves. Love them," says Probst. "The game of Survivor almost demands that you make big moves if you want to win. The key is picking the right moment ... to make your move. For me, there are few greater moments than when something completely unexpected happens at tribal and changes the game. Beautiful."

Probst also teases that "it's a safe bet" that Idols played in the game will go back out into the camp and that while the Three Amigos are still "the obvious targets," this Tribal Council "may have opened up the crack they need to bust the game wide open."

We can't wait to see it. "Survivor" airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
