Sylvester Stallone addresses son Sage's death on 'The Tonight Show'Add to Favorites | The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
"When life hits you pretty hard you can either go into a dark corner, or you can say, 'OK, fine, I'm going to find something to focus on,'" Stallone says. "You have your children, your wife, you try to be supportive of other people too, because I know a lot of people go through it that don't get the attention like I do. And I feel for them, because it's one club that no one wants to be a member of, that's for sure. But I think about his memory. He was a lovely boy and I'll always cherish that."
Sage Stallone, 36, died in July; a cause of death hasn't been determined yet.
Stallone's conversation with Leno then moved on to lighter topics, including Stallone's resemblance to a figure in a painting in the Vatican and working with Arnold Schwarzenegger in "The Expendables 2." He says people pitched them projects in the past, but never anything that clicked.
"They wanted us to solve murders, and these murders were taking place in a girl's club, so he and I dress up as women," Stallone recalls. "That would work. I don't know if you've seen me in heels -- it's not pretty. And Arnold -- oy."
