Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis team up for 'The Expendables'

Sly, who has lead role and is directing the already star-studded action flick, will team up with his former Planet Hollywood buddies Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger for a scene.

While at the Venice film festival, Stallone told reporters he'd be putting together the "dream team" to try and take back the action genre from an overreliance on computer-generated effects. It's the first time all three stars -- who ruled shoot-'em-up flicks in the '80s -- would appear together on-screen.

"It's very difficult to get us all together at the same time. It's impossible to get all those egos in the same room," he said.

Already on hand are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Forest Whitaker, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Charisma Carpenter and more. The movie follows a group of mercenaries tasked by the CIA with overthrowing a South American dictator.

"The Expendables" opens April 23, 2010.
