Talia Castellano has died at age 13, after succumbing to cancer. The teen girl first gained notoriety through YouTube videos in which she gave tutorials on applying makeup. Those videos led to her becoming the honorary face of CoverGirl.

The news was announced on her Facebook page, with a message reading, "It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time. God speed little one, may you be free from pain and suffering, may your soul feel the light and love that you brought to so many of us on this Earth during the short time you were her with us. We will miss you more than you will ever know baby girl."

Following the announcement, condolences for Talia and her family flooded Twitter. One of those who sent her thoughts and prayers was Ellen DeGeneres, who had Talia on her show in September 2012. Talia dreamed of meeting the talk show host and after many viewer emails were sent to the show, Ellen made the dream come true. "This year I met a very special girl, and today we lost her," Ellen writes, "Sending my heart to Talia's family. I'm so sad."

Talia first disclosed her diagnosis of neuroblastoma and leukemia to the public in a 2012 video, explaining that rather than wearing wigs, make-up helped her "embrace those features that I really like about myself."

Able to look back on her time happily, Talia explains in a video the benefits her situation has brought her. "Having a YouTube channel, [inspiring] people and having people look up to me ... the journey of having cancer was amazing. But every journey has an end."
