Will Tara Reid be back for Syfy's forthcoming "Sharknado" sequel? While an initial report said the production only wants Ian Ziering, Reid came forward to call those claims "not true."

"There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true#liars," Reid tweets.

In the wake of the rumor that Reid had been cut from "Sharknado 2," those involved with the first movie rushed forward to defend her involvement in the project. Producer David Latt admits he doesn't know who started the initial TMZ story.

"The short answer is: Nope. Tara is invited back," Latt tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Honestly, I don't know where that [TMZ story] came from."

He adds, "Despite all of the rumors and tabloid stories, Tara was great to work with. She showed up to play. Knew her lines. Was into this crazy, silly film. No drama. No diva. ... She was great and we would be lucky to have her in 'S2.'"

The Asylum's official Twitter account echoes similar sentiments, tweeting, "For the record, @TaraReid is awesome and was great to work with in #SHARKNADO. We'd be lucky to have her back for the sequel. That is all!"

"Sharknado 2" is slated to premiere on Syfy in 2014.
