Taylor Swift and Harry Styles spend her birthday together: Plus, her Golden Globes birthday surprise
Swift is currently in the UK with the boybander, and they're enjoying a week-long celebration leading up to her Dec. 13 birthday. According to People, on her birthday, the duo "ate dinner by an open fire in a country pub and toured the picturesque Lake District, picking up classic children's souvenirs - and goofing around to seasonal songs in a shop."
Sarah Walker, the manager of the Rising Sun pub, tells the mag that Styles and Swift hung out by the fire with friends all night, but there was no PDA happening. "She was polite and pleasant - fantastic. She is just having a nice tour of England. They were like any typical group of people having dinner. Everyone thinks they are a couple, but to be honest, we had no sense of that at all."
This week, they also visited the World of Beatrix Potter with Styles' mother, where Swift bought some stuffed animals. A fan later took the above photo of the couple in Northern England.
Her biggest birthday treat, though? A Golden Globes nomination for her "The Hunger Games" soundtrack song, "Safe and Sound." Swift released an enthusiastic statement on Thursday after learning that she'd been honored with the nom.
"What an amazing and unexpected present! I'm blown away by my first-ever Golden Globe nomination, and so honored to be nominated with T Bone Burnett and The Civil Wars. Writing music for 'The Hunger Games' was a labor of love -- I was a fan of the stories and the characters, and we all wanted the music to have an authenticity that matched the tone of the movie and the emotions expressed in the book. This is a huge honor, and I'm really excited and so flattered. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association!"
