Taylor Swift joins CMA Awards lineup; Conan gets a new bandleader

Taylor Swift has joined the lineup of performers at the 44th annual Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 10. The awards will air on ABC a couple of weeks after her new album goes on sale. [ CMA Awards]

Jimmy Vivino, the long-time guitarist, arranger and assistant music director for Conan O'Brien's band, will step up to become the bandleader for O'Brien's TBS show. Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band make their debut on "Conan" Nov. 8. [ TBS]

VH1 has greenlit its first hour-long scripted series: "Single Ladies," which began life as a two-hour movie, stars Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea as best friends in various stages of relationship angst; D.B. Woodside also stars, and Queen Latifah is an exec producer. [ VH1]

Steve Buscemi, currently starring on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," will make a guest appearance on "Portlandia," a sketch comedy series set in Portland, OR and starring comedian Fred Armisen and musician Carrie Brownstein. [ The Wrap]

Freddy Kruger is dropping by "Supernatural." Robert Englund will play Dr. Robert, an "unlicensed doc who makes his living stitching folks up on the down low." The episode will air Dec. 10, but if you can't wait, Englund will be on the Monday, Oct. 25 episode of "Chuck." [ EW]

Steven Slater, the JetBlue flight attendant who went AWOL via the emergency slide, is granting his first interview to "Larry King Live." Slater will appear on the show Tuesday, Oct. 26. [ THR]
