brett-dalton-teen-choice-awards-win-gi.jpg "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" star Brett Dalton launched a pretty intense Twitter campaign to win the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV: Male Breakout Star after he found out he was nominated, and win he did. But viewers watching the 2014 TCAs wouldn't know that, because the first-time nominee didn't get to receive his surfboard trophy during the live show.

The trouble with having an awards show that includes 88 categories but only has a two-hour-long airtime is that many, many, many categories don't get presented live. Dalton likely received his surfboard after the show, or during a commercial break, or at some other point that wasn't taking up precious airtime.

Plenty of other actors who won also didn't get their due during the live show, like Jennifer Lawrence for winning Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, or Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort for winning Choice Movie Liplock, or Adam Levine and Shakira for winning Choice TV Reality Personality (Male and Female, respectively). Still, as big "Agents of SHIELD" fans, it would have been really lovely to hear Dalton's acceptance speech since he worked so hard to rally fans so he can win.

But his big presence on social media gives us hope that we might hear Dalton give a "thank you" speech yet. Is it too much to hope that he'll post a video of what his speech would have been had he had time to give it? Only time will tell.

Regardless, congrats, Mr. Dalton. You deserved it.

UPDATE: Dalton did end up posting a speech online, and in keeping with his sense of humor, it's adorable. Watch it below:
