Ansel Elgort is taking home a Teen Choice Award surfboard for Choice Movie Actor in a Drama this year. Eardrums in the Shrine Auditorium split when the young actor was announced the winner and took to the stage.

With his dimple game as strong as ever, Ansel says he wouldn't be up there if it weren't for "The Fault in our Stars" and the story that John Green wrote. He goes on to thank co-star Shailene Woodley, who was sitting in the audience.

"We didn't want to make a movie about sickness and cancer because this is really a movie about love," Ansel continues, taking room for applause pauses. The actor gets a little emotional as he talked about the real life teens that inspired his performance in the movie.

"I can only hope that we did it justice," Elgort explains. "My heart goes out to everyone dealing with this illness because cancer sucks. I dedicate this award to them."

The young girls only continued to scream through the actor's compassionate speech and as he took his surfboard home to hang it on his wall.
