'The Avengers: Age of Ultron': Watch the Marvel Comic-Con reveal
One of the most exciting reveals at San Diego Comic-Con was Marvel's announcement that the next "Avengers" movie would be "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." The news was shared, as many are at the annual convention, with a teaser video that eventually showed Ultron as the movie's villain, and then revealed the film's official title card.
At the time, the video of the reveal wasn't available online, but now it's been uploaded to YouTube in all its HD glory. The brief flash of Ultron's face on the screen is pretty epic, as is the visual teases that Tony Stark's armor becomes Ultron's. Is this more confirmation that Tony Sark will be the one to create the supervillain, instead of Hank Pym who did it in the comics?
In the time since the Comic-Con announcement was made, James Spader has been cast as Ultron. It turns out director Joss Whedon has wanted to tell this story since before he got involved in "The Avengers."
"I was pitching Ultron before I took the job on the first movie," Whedon said in a recent interview. "I was like, 'I don't know if I want to do this, but for the second one, you should totally do Ultron.' Because he's been a thorn in their side as much as any other character over the years and particularly back in my history."
"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
