In her new film, " The Avengers," Scarlett Johansson plays the role of Black Widow, the film's anti-hero. In the comic book adaptation, Johansson plays the role of Black Widow, the anti-hero of the film, who harnesses evildoer and remits their souls to Satan.

On Wednesday (April 11), Johansson stepped out in a perfectly-tailored black dress for the premiere of the film. She joined her A-list cast members -- Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth and Samuel L. Jackson, on the red carpet to promote the Joss Whedon-directed movie which opens to theaters nationwide May 4.

To embody her supernatural being, Johansson was faced with the complicated task of getting into one very snug costume. Nevertheless, she tells Zap2it she wouldn't complain. She feels fortunate not to have been stuck in as many layers as her co-stars.

Asked what it was like "slipping" into costume, the star says, "Slipping in? More like folding into! You know what? It's actually not as bad as it looks. I have to say it's got a lot of give. Underneath, actually I wear... not much."

Whoa.

"The guys couldn't believe it because they'd come in with a lot of padding under their big, kind of crazy suits and they couldn't believe it. They're like, 'You wear nothing?' I said, 'Well not absolutely nothing but...'"
