'The Big Bang Theory' does Valentine's Day: 6 things to watch for in 'The Tangible Affection Proof'
Of course, Leonard, Sheldon et al don't all celebrate in the traditional way, and Raj doesn't really celebrate at all. Or does he? Here are a few things to watch for in "The Tangible Affection Proof," which airs at 8 p.m. ET Thursday (Feb. 14) on CBS.
Romance ninja. That's what Leonard ( Johnny Galecki) calls himself (with accompanying gestures and sound effects) in convincing Penny ( Kaley Cuoco) to go out for a romantic dinner on Valentine's Day. It does not go as planned, however, thanks to some unexpected fellow diners. Speaking of:
Howard and Bernadette at war. When Howard's ( Simon Helberg) attempt at a thoughtful Valentine's gift for his wife go awry, he and Bernadette ( Melissa Rauch) join Leonard and Penny at dinner. They do not, however, leave their argument over household chores at home. Add another distraction at the restaurant, and it's an all-around bummer of a dinner.
The boyfriend jackpot. Sheldon ( Jim Parsons) knows he's obligated to get Amy ( Mayim Bialik) a nice gift, so he farms out the task to his research assistant Alex ( Margo Harshman). She comes up with several fine choices -- which naturally Sheldon rejects out of hand. Yet he still compliments himself on his boyfriend skills.
Meanwhile, at the comic shop ... Raj ( Kunal Nayyar) and Stuart ( Kevin Sussman) team up to throw a party for the dateless, which actually isn't as depressing as it may sound. Raj even strikes up a conversation with a woman ( Kate Micucci, making the first of several appearances on the show).
That guy! Watch for background actor extraordinaire and GoDaddy Super Bowl ad star Jesse Heiman in the scenes at the comic-book shop.
Making the save. Leonard and Penny eventually manage to salvage their night in a very sweet way. It's not exactly what you might expect, but it works.
Will you be watching "The Big Bang Theory" with your sweetheart on Valentine's Day?
