The countdown is over and decision day is finally here on "The Big Bang Theory." Howard ( Simon Helberg) and Bernadette ( Melissa Rauch) need to figure out which is more important, his space travel or their wedding. Will nerd love triumph over all, or are there just too many obstacles?

[Spoiler Alert]

Howard remains petrified about going into space. But he's just as scared that his travel plans will spoil their nuptials and disappoint his true love. Bernadette decides that the best thing for them to do is a quickie wedding at city hall before the launch.

While a reasonable concept, circumstances gang up on them (as does a little gang problem) and this mission is aborted. So our two lovebirds are left scrambling for a back-up plan.

At the same time, there's still the aftershocks of Leonard's ( Johnny Galecki) marriage proposal to Penny ( Kaley Cuoco). Sure he said it in the heat of the moment, but that doesn't lessen the impact. Regardless, it provides ample material for Sheldon ( Jim Parsons) to mock both his roommate and Penny as only he can.

While we won't give away how things end, suffice it to say that the episode provides a number of tender moments filled with real emotion while never deviating too far from their dorky core.

In the spirit of the occasion, we won't rate the season finale of "The Big Bang Theory." But we will practice saying "congratulations" in Klingon in the hopes that things work out all around.

"The Big Bang Theory" season finale airs on Thursday (May 10) at 8 p.m. ET.
