The actress recently donated to the Israel Defense Force specifically so they could afford bulletproof vests for their soldiers. Bialik explains her donation with a written statement.
"I need to feel like I'm doing something. No matter what your politics are, soldiers are sent into war zones deserve to be protected from enemy fire. Every soldier is someone's son or daughter. Every single one."
Mayim isn't the only famous face to take a side in the conflict. Jon Voight wrote an open letter over his anger that Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz would sign a Spanish letter requesting the blockage of Israel from the Gaza Strip. Selena Gomez and John Legend are also amongst the celebrities that have tweeted about the on-going conflict, which in its most recent flare up has cost thousands of civilian lives.
Bialik of course has a little extra change to donate since signing her new deal with CBS for the next three seasons of "The Big Bang Theory."
The show returns Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
