'The Big Bang Theory's' Mayim Bialik: Sheldon and Amy are 'developing as unusually as we would expect'
"Everybody's involved in some way. That plot goes through a couple episodes. We are all trying to help him through it," says Bialik, adding that in the April 24 episode "there's a Penny/Sheldon split from the rest of the group for 'Anything Can Happen Thursday' ... it's a funny one."
At the mention of the Penny/Sheldon pairing, we wonder if there's any person on the show Bialik hopes to see Amy spend more time with, and she says that wish was granted last fall in the "Scavenger Vortex" episode.
"Simon Helberg was the last person, and we got to do that episode, the Neil Diamond episode where we got to sing together. That was the last person I hadn't had stuff alone with like that," says Bialik.
Turning to talk of Season 7 winding down, we wonder what's in store for Sheldon and Amy. Bialik says, "Obviously the Valentine's episode was really big for us. ... I think their relationship is developing as unusually as we would expect [ laughs], but it's been really fun for me and Jim, for sure. ... I don't know what the finale will bring. I'm as curious as everybody else to see."
But does she think Sheldon loves Amy? "I don't know about the L-word. We haven't really talked about it. I don't know if that's a word that Sheldon would think to use, and I don't know that it would bother Amy that he doesn't. I think she understands his quirks pretty well."
"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
