After last week's controversial finale, where winner
Rachel Frederickson won Season 15 with
a shocking overall weight loss
, it seems
"The Biggest Loser
is taking steps to keep contestants from going "too far" in their weight loss journey from this point forward.
, sources connected to the show say producers are considering making "small but significant tweaks" to how the contestants stay in touch after they leave the ranch, but before the live finale three months later, providing more "support and check-in" opportunities during the time they are losing weight on their own.
"There might be more focus on what happens to the winner after they are supposedly done with the show," says
. There has been no official comment on any changes to the show from NBC.
Dolvett Quince, Rachel's trainer on "The Biggest Loser," addressed
the concerns on social media
: "Please try not to look at one slice of Rachel's journey and come to broad conclusions. Rachel's health is and always has been my main concern and her journey to good health has not yet ended!!"
