NBC and production company Shine America announced Wednesday (June 25) that fan-favorite trainer Jillian Michaels will not return to "The Biggest Loser" in the fall.

If you're keeping track, this is the third time Michaels has exited the popular weight-loss reality series.

No other details are in the statement, reported by the AP. A production company spokesman tells the wire service that the focus is on Season 16, which debuts on NBC in September.

This news follows reports that Michaels was concerned about the direction of the show after the Rachel Frederickson controversy last season. A source at that time told People that Michaels was "deeply concerned about the direction the show has been taking" and was "turned off by the mean-spirited storylines and poor care of the contestants."

There has been no statement from Michaels herself or her representatives. Any replacement trainers have also not been announced.

Wednesday afternoon, Michaels posted this on her popular Facebook page ... perhaps looking to find that moment of calm before the storm?
