'The Blacklist' and 'Sleepy Hollow' are huge with DVR usersAdd to Favorites | The Blacklist
That's still true -- among the biggest gainers in the initial set of Live +7 numbers for 2013-14 are "The Blacklist," "The Big Bang Theory" and "NCIS." The numbers themselves, however, are growing ever larger.
Premiere week's DVR leader in total viewers added is "The Blacklist," which grew by 5.7 million people. Last year's top gainer in premiere week, "Revolution," added about 4.87 million viewers -- which would have placed it sixth in this year's rankings. Ten shows added 4 million viewers or more in premiere week vs. just two a year ago.
Another change at the top of the rankings this year is the percentage by which some of the top shows grew with DVR use. In the past, shows from further down the ratings made up almost all of the top percentage gainers -- growing by 50 percent is easier if you start at 6 million viewers vs. 12 million viewers.
That may be changing too. "The Blacklist," "Sleepy Hollow" and "Elementary" rank in the Top 10 for Sept. 23-29 in both total viewers added and the percentage by which they grew. "Sleepy Hollow" rose by 58 percent in viewers (8.59 million to 13.54 million) and a huge 70 percent in adults 18-49 (3.1 to 5.3).
