"The Blacklist" has added Parminder Nagra to its cast in a regular role. The NBC drama starring James Spader premieres in the fall.

Nagra ( "ER," "Psych," "Alcatraz," "Bend It Like Beckham") will play Agent Margot Malik, described as a "smart and strong FBI agent" (as reported by Deadline) who arrives to mentor Agent Elizabeth Keen ( Megan Boone).

Hopefully for the inexperienced Keen, Agent Malik's friendship will help her to deal with Red Reddington (Spader) in catching terrorists. Malik is also a married agent, with two kids at home.

Although Nagra does not appear in the pilot episode, set to air on NBC Mondays at 10pm, there are plenty of FBI agents dealing with Reddington -- the Spader character is formerly the FBI's most wanted criminal. After Red turns himself in, he insists on working only with new agent Elizabeth Keen. He wants to use her and the Bureau to catch criminals, for reasons not divulged.
