'The Book Thief' movie trailer delves into best-selling novel's emotional journey
A trailer for "The Book Thief," a film based on the best-selling novel by Markus Zusak, has premiered online. The movie, which is sure to be an awards season contender, follows the story of a young girl who finds herself taken in by adoptive parents who harbor a Jew in Nazi Germany.
Directed by Brian Percival, "The Book Thief" stars newcomer Sophie Nelisse as main character Liesel Meminger. Also in the film are Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson as Leisel's adoptive parents Hans and Rosa, and Ben Schnetzer as the harbored Jew Max Vandenberg.
