'The Butler': Mariah Carey no-makeup photo shows the singer dressed-down
Maybe she doesn't need her normal makeup?
From director Lee Daniels, "The Butler" tells the story of Cecil Gaines (a character based on the real-life Eugene Allen), a man who served as the White House butler for 8 Presidents between the years of 1952 and 1986. While the size of Carey's role is not known, she is appearing with a lot of big names. Forest Whitaker plays the central role of Gaines, while Robin Williams (Eisenhower), James Marsden (Kennedy), John Cusack (Nixon), Liev Schrieber (Johnson) and Alan Rickman (Reagan) are among those playing Presidents.
Also starring in the film are Oprah Winfrey, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jane Fonda, Lenny Kravitz, Vanessa Redgrave, Melissa Leo and Terrence Howard.
This isn't Carey's first foray into acting, of course. She is infamous for playing the lead role in the 2001 flop, "Glitter." In 2009, Carey had greater success in a supporting role in the film, "Precious."
"The Butler" opens in theaters on Aug. 16.
