The CW fall TV 2014: 'The Originals' moves to Mondays; 'Hart of Dixie' and 'Beauty and the Beast' held for midseason
In addition to its new programs, The CW has also done a slight schedule shift, moving "The Originals" to Monday nights where it will act as lead-in for "Jane the Virgin." The only other new fall premiere, "The Flash," is being paired with "Supernatural" on Tuesday nights. Wednesday and Thursday nights will remain the same.
"America's Next Top Model" also returns to Friday nights in the fall, while "Beauty and the Beast" and "Hart of Dixie" are being held until 2015.
"This is a different CW than we were just a few years ago," says Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW. "Our audience is broader and more inclusive than it has ever been, and we are growing on-air and on all digital platforms. We just finished our most-watched season in three years, and our schedule is as strong as it has ever been, with more vibrant and more diverse programming.
"Next season, with superhero action shows like 'Arrow' and 'The Flash,' epic fantasies like 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'Reign,' the apocalyptic worlds of 'The Messengers' and 'The 100,' and the outrageous comedy of 'Jane the Virgin' and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?,' we will build and expand our audience even more, and keep our momentum going with the kind of high-octane, high-impact entertainment that our viewers love."
Premiere dates will be announced at a later time.
