"Star-Crossed" is getting hot for teacher.

"Melrose Place" alum Stephanie Jacobsen has just landed a recurring role on The CW's midseason alien invasion drama, Zap2it can exclusively reveal.

Jacobsen will be playing Eva, a charismatic biology teacher at Marshall High School, who has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the Atrians (aliens) and is sympathetic to their cause. She quickly becomes a favorite among human and Atrian students alike.

"Star-Crossed" is a sci-fi drama about two teenagers -- one alien boy, Roman ("90210" star Matt Lanter), and one human girl, Emery ("Friday Night Lights" star Aimee Teegarden) -- who fall in love despite the growing tension between the humans and Atrians after a group of Atrians is allowed to enroll in high school to test the ability of the two species to integrate.

Other recent "Star-Crossed" castings include Tahmoh Penikett and Johnathon Schaech. Penikett will play mysterious SEU (Sector Enforcement Unit) Officer Jack Beaumont, who is responsible for supervision within the Atrian (alien) sector walls. Schaech will play Lanter's uncle who has a dark and shady past as a radical militant Atrian, though he claims to have changed his ways and serves as a politician in the sector.

"Star-Crossed" debuts midseason on The CW.
