'The Finder': Saffron Burrows exits, opening door for new female lead

saffron-burrows-finder-recast.jpgActress Saffron Burrows has left "Bones" spin-off "The Finder."

First reported by EW, the news doesn't come as much of a surprise. Burrows wasn't present at the FOX upfront, nor was she mentioned in the presentation when stars Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan were introduced.

It was also a popular opinion among reviews of the pilot, which actually aired as episode 17 of "Bones" Season 6, that Burrows' character was a bit of a weak link. (Zap2it found her cockney accent a bit too much).

In the pilot, Burrows played Ike Latulippe, the right-hand gal to Stults' super-sleuth Walter Sherman. Ike's big contribution to the team was tending bar -- and helicopter flying.

"The Finder" has some time to find a new female lead. The series will debut midseason in the "Bones" time slot, when actress Emily Deschanel's maternity leave temporarily halts production.

If you still haven't caught "The Finder" pilot, it's streaming on Hulu. Just don't get too attached to Ike.
