'The Firm' demoted to Saturdays on NBC, 'Awake' gets a premiere date
NBC is moving "The Firm," which has been anything but firm in the ratings, to 9 p.m. ET Saturdays starting Feb. 11. The show has struggled badly on Thursdays, barely breaking the 1.0 mark in adults 18-49 on some nights. Thursday's (Feb. 2) show drew only 3 million viewers and a 0.8 demo rating in the fast nationals.
Repeats of "Grimm" will take over the 10 o'clock spot for the remainder of February, and "Awake" is set to premiere on March 1. Expect NBC to start hyping the new show during Sunday's Super Bowl broadcast.
"Awake" stars Jason Isaacs ("Brotherhood," the "Harry Potter" series) as a detective who survives a horrific car crash and finds himself moving in two alternate realities -- one in which his wife ( Laura Allen) survived and one in which his son ( Dylan Minnette) did. It was one of the better pilots of the 2011-12 crop, and viewers will now get to see how it plays as a weekly series.
