At the end of "The Following" Season 1 finale, the fates of both Kevin Bacon's Ryan Hardy and Natalie Zea's Claire Matthews were up in the air. With Ryan and Claire each sporting some seriously fatal-looking knife wounds lying on the floor of Ryan's kitchen, many wondered if Season 2 of "The Following" would follow the same format of the first season but with different characters.

But it looks like Claire is a survivor, since Zea has been confirmed to be returning to the FOX drama for Season 2, TV Guide Magazine reports. After signing an eleventh-hour deal, there is no word yet on how long her stint will be for Season 2. Will Claire fight to heal and live to see another story line, or will she be able to say her last goodbyes before succumbing to her injuries?

"The Following" returns midseason on FOX, but you can catch Zea on CBS' "Under the Dome" later this summer.
