"The Giver" had two big moments at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. Stars Brenton Thwaites and Odeya Rush took to the stage to introduce a new trailer, and British boy band Rixton performed a medley to promote the soundtrack.
The Meryl Streep-heavy teaser put a big emphasis on the romance between Thwaites' Jonas and Rush's Fiona. Many kisses were shared, meaning that "The Giver" could be nominated for its own share of Teen Choice Awards in 2015.
Adapted from Lois Lowry's YA novel of the same name, "The Giver" is a dystopian story of a society that muted their emotions and memory to find peace and harmony. "There is so much more," Jonas, who discovers what society is keeping from him, says in the trailer.
Meanwhile, Rixton got huge cheers from the Teen Choice audience as they played a medley of "Me & My Broken Heart" and "Wait On Me." Rixton contributed their song "Whole" to "The Giver" soundtrack.
"The Giver" hits theaters on Aug. 5.
