'The Good Wife' adds Matthew Perry for late-season run

matthew-perry-gi.jpg Matthew Perry will go up against "The Good Wife" in a recurring part later this season.

The former "Friends" star and multiple Emmy nominee will first appear on the CBS drama on March 25, the network says. He'll play Mike, an "extremely charming" Chicago attorney who's leading an inquiry into a suspicious police shooting. Alicia ( Julianna Margulies) is assigned to the inquiry panel too, and she soon starts to wonder about the way Mike is directing the investigation.

The part will be Perry's first TV role since "Mr. Sunshine" finished its brief run on ABC last season.

Perry is best-known for playing Chandler on "Friends," for which he earned an Emmy nod in 2002, but he's done his fair share of dramatic work too. Three of his four Emmy nominations, in fact, came from dramas -- two for guest appearances on "The West Wing" and one for his starring role in the TNT movie "The Ron Clark Story."
