Fresh off the heels of casting Taye Diggs as a "meticulous and talented" lawyer (minor spoilers if you click the link), CBS' award-winning drama has cast Steven Pasquale ("Rescue Me," "Do No Harm") as Elfman, one of the "top campaign managers in the country," reports Deadline. Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) is working hard to convince Elfman to helm Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) campaign for State's Attorney.

Pasquale has been booked for only two episodes so far, so perhaps a run for State's Attorney is never more than an idea the Florrick team bandies about. Executive producer Robert King told Zap2it after the Season 5 finale, "I don't think the audience has to worry that [Alicia] would go into something that seems so alien to her right away. I don't think that is in the cards, anyway," which would fit with a potential campaign manager who only appears for two episodes.

Something tells us Alicia will have her hands full enough at (the possibly named) Florrick, Agos & Lockhart.

"The Good Wife" returns Sunday, Sept. 21 on CBS.
