'The Hunger Games': Chloe Moretz and Abigail Breslin want in

chloe-abigail.jpgIn what is shaping up to be one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2012, it seems like every young actor in Hollywood wants a role in "The Hunger Games." "I Am Number Four's" Alex Pettyfer is reportedly in contention for the role of Peeta, Lyndsy Fonseca and Kaya Scodelario have read the script and "The Vampire Diaries" Malese Jow has been campaigning for the role of Katniss.

Now two other young actors have expressed their interest in the film adaption of Suzanne Collin's young adult series: Abigail Breslin and Chloe Moretz.

In an interview with the LA Times, "Let Me In" star  Moretz says, "Yeah, I read all of the books. I'd die to play Katniss. It's such a cool role." Breslin (best known for "Little Miss Sunshine") tells MTV, "I think it's an amazing book. I'm a huge  fan of the books. It's amazing, obviously it would be great [to be in the film]." When asked who her favorite character was, Breslin said, "Obviously Katniss."

While both actresses are obviously talented, they both might be too young to take on the role of 16-year-old Katniss, a contestant in The Hunger Games, a televised fight-to-the-death; Moretz is 13 while Breslin is 14 . We definitely want the actress to look believable as a 16-year-old as it makes all the violence more harrowing, but Moretz and Breslin look almost too young.
