'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' teaser trailer is chilling and fantastic Capitol propaganda

If you had any concerns that "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay's" two parts would be the "boring" parts of the film series, consider your fears alleviated. The first teaser trailer for "Part 1" has been released, and it promises a continuation of a fantastic marketing campaign for arguably the best tentpole blockbuster franchise around.

For those who forgot, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) was captured by the Capitol when Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) managed to escape at the end of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." In the teaser, which is a propaganda ad set to air in the Districts of Panem, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) addresses his nation with Peeta by his side.

"Since the dark days, our great nation has known only peace," Snow says. "Ours is an elegant system, conceived to nourish and protect. Your districts are the body, and the Capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us, and in return, we feed and protect you. But if you resist the system, if you starve yourself, if you fight against it, it's you who will bleed. I know you'll stand with me, with us, with all of us, together as one."

"Mockingjay's" two parts will focus on the uprising against the Capitol, so this truly is the best way to tease the upcoming movies. Plus, the blank look on Peeta's face as he stares at the camera should have uninitiated movie fans as freaked out as the citizens of the Capitol this (fake) propaganda ad is intended to reach. Bravo, Lionsgate.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" also stars Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Gwendoline Christie and Natalie Dormer. It's due in theaters on Nov. 21.
