'The Hunt' premiere video: Bear hunters vs. nature on The History Channel

"The Hunt" is The History Channel's newest show, documenting a twice-yearly bear hunt on the island of Kodiak in Alaska. It follows hunters as they chase down Earth's largest land predator, the Kodiak brown bear.

The eight-episode series, narrated by James Hetfield (of Metallica), shows how hunters who have won one of 496 bear tags live off the land in pursuit of the bears. Dealing with tough terrain, dangerous prey, stringent regulations and a cultural imperative to honor the animals, only half of the hunters actually get their prey.

"The Hunt" premieres Sunday, June 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on The History Channel.
