Complex," but there are more romantic encounters in store for The CW's aspiring actress. Steele promises Zap2it that Abby will seek comfort elsewhere now that she's losing both her BFF and her boyfriend.

"She's going to try and fill that void some way," the actress says. "It's really hard, her going through a breakup, because Nick was really her only friend when she was there. [Her other BFF] Tariq [is gone], so I think it's natural for her to dive into something new to get her mind off it."

And who will she turn to? "Your costars are obviously the most accessible, they're the people you're around the most, so it's just natural for them to get mixed up with each other," she says.

But don't think Nick will be pining. Although he wanted the relationship to work, he knew it was moving too fast and he'll probably try to find comfort in his own coworkers (Sabrina, obvs). "Even though [Abby's] the one who brought it up, it doesn't mean it's not true for both of them. Nick tried to make it work but in the end I think once she said it, it all came crashing down. He realized that it wasn't going to happen," Steele says. "So I think he'll do the same thing."

Abby won't have Tariq ( Benjamin Charles Watson) to turn to during her tough time since he's back at home recovering from his run-in with Kal ( Andra Fuller), but Steele says that Abby might reach out to her bestie at some point in the future. "They're really great friends and I definitely think she's going to try to get in touch with him, but it was a really traumatic thing that happened and I think that anyone would be really cut off from their friends."

Personally, Steele says she loves the Tariq-Kal love story and can't wait to see more. "It's pretty much one of my favorite storylines. I think it touches on a lot of issues. Both of them are really great actors, and they make it really believable."

Work-wise, things will continue on the same path for Abby. "She takes everything really lightly but she does have some bad luck. Not some -- she has a lot of bad luck -- but everything's really fun."

Her current gig on the Christian show could turn into something more, but she'll manage to find some more work no matter what happens. "She seems to be doing an alright job so far for not being very Christian-like. She's going to run into some problems, I'm sure. As you do on any set, you kind of have to meld with other people, and you don't always. So there are a couple of obstacles but Abby gets through it."

After all, there's always that singing career to fall back on. She sang the hook on Kal's single "Hard Times" (which is actually available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon), and our lovely illegal immigrant (she still doesn't have a work visa) could potentially head back into the studio for more.

"The L.A. Complex" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.
