Series star Alexandra Chando took to Instagram on Monday (July 15) to announce that her twisty ABC Family series, the fate of which has long been on the bubble, will not be returning for a third season.

"To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons," Chando writes. "Unfortunately, ABC Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what's next for us!"

A request by Zap2It for official comment from the network confirmed that they would not be moving forward with additional episodes.

The announcement doesn't come as much of a shock, to be frank. Both "The Lying Game" and "Bunheads" had modestly rated runs on the cable net, forcing ABC Family to watch how new summer entries "The Fosters" and "Twisted" performed before making renewal decisions. With the new series' performing well, ratings wise, the writing was on the wall. There's yet to be any talk about a "Bunheads" renewal or cancellation, however.

Are you disappointed that time has run out for "The Lying Game"?
