"The Mindy Project" is about to get a little bit taller.

The new FOX comedy starring Mindy Kaling ( "The Office") will welcome three basketball-playing guest stars in an upcoming episode: NBA players Amar'e Stoudemire, Baron Davis and Danny Granger will all appear as themselves in episode 4 of the show.

Why would there be basketball players in a comedy about a romantic gynecologist? That's because even medical doctors need to blow off steam sometimes. Dr. Mindy Lahiri and some of her co-workers will spend part of the episode at a nightclub, according to a report from EW.com. While there, Mindy somehow winds up in the VIP section, hanging out with the three NBA players.

Stoudemire is a forward for the New York Knicks, Granger is a forward for the Indiana Pacers and Baron Davis is a free agent who most recently was with the Knicks. All three are significantly taller than Mindy Kaling.

"The Mindy Project" will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9:30 p.m. FOX is also offering a sneak peek online beginning on Aug. 27.
