'The Mob Doctor': 'Fringe's' Kevin Corrigan and Terry Kinney join the family
The show, about a young surgeon ( Jordana Spiro) who does clandestine medical work for a mafia boss ( William Forsythe) in order to pay off a family debt, has cast Kevin Corrigan ("Fringe," "Damages") and Terry Kinney ("NYC 22," "Oz") in recurring parts. They'll play brothers who are associates of Forsythe's character.
Kinney's character, Salvatore Amaro, is the more hot-tempered of the two, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Amaro family is likened to the Corleones from "The Godfather," and Salvatore is its Sonny.
His brother Titus (Corrigan), meanwhile, is more like Michael Corleone, EW reports -- clean-cut and confident, someone who doesn't necessarily read "mobster."
How they become entangled with Spiro's character remains to be seen. "The Mob Doctor" premieres Monday, Sept. 17 on FOX.
