'The Muppets': No Jason Segel in the new film

Jason Segel1.jpgA new Muppet movie is about to go forward, but Jason Segel won't be involved. Say it ain't so! A deal has been reached with "The Muppets" director James Bobbin and co-writer Nick Stoller, but according to Vulture, the "How I Met Your Mother" star won't be a part of the sequel.

No bad blood, of course! It's all about scheduling. Segel is currently promoting his upcoming film "5 Year Engagement." (We got to visit the set, and it looks amazing.) He's got the show, and another film promotion tour on the way for the Judd Apatow film "This is Forty." That doesn't exactly leave a lot of time for writing a sequel.

Segel worked extra hard to get the first film out, pulling two day stints with no sleep to make sure he fulfilled his responsibilities to both his show and the film. The site says that there is still a possibility that Segel would star in the film. We hope so!
