"The New Normal" is one of NBC's half-hour comedy pickups for the 2012-13 season. It is "Glee" and "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy's first foray into a half-hour comedy and stars Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannells as a gay couple that wants to have a child.

Georgia King is Goldie, a single mom who wants to give her daughter Shania ( Bebe Wood) a better life, so she agrees to be the surrogate for the couple. Her grandmother ( Ellen Barkin) isn't quite as excited about the endeavor.
