'The Originals' asks 'Pretty Little Liars' fans to watch their show instead
In a new "Originals" promo that will air on ABC Family during "PLL," a voiceover asks, "Is 'A' making you angry? Agitated? Maybe the answer is on another channel. Head over to the CW right now and see what everyone's tweeting about. It's time to ditch the old 'A' for something that's absolutely bad a**."
EW reports that the CW is bypassing ABC Family's advertising department by purchasing local ad time from major cable and satellite providers.
Does the CW have a point, "PLL" fans? Are you getting tired of the endless "A" scheming without many answers? Or is it a desperate ploy that won't get "PLL" fans to change the channel at all?
It'll be interesting to see what the ratings are for the two shows, since they target a similar demographic. The only time they have previously aired head-to-head was during the 2013 "Pretty Little Liars" Halloween episode. During that hour of primetime, "PLL" beat "The Originals" 3.18 million viewers vs. 2.23 million viewers.
