Martin Henderson ("The Ring") will star in new series "The Red Road," Deadline reports. The show, formerly titled "The Descendants," has a straight-to-series six-episode order from the network.

"The Red Road" is described as a "hard-hitting" drama that centers on Harold Jensen (Henderson), a sheriff fighting to keep his family together while attempting to police two warring communities: the small town he grew up in and the neighboring Ramapo Mountains, home of the Ramapo Mountain Indians.

Henderson joins a cast that includes Jason Momoa ("Game of Thrones") as Indian ex-con Phillip Kopus and Julianne Nicholson ("Boardwalk Empire") as Jensen's wife. The actor most recently toplined Shonda Rhimes' "Off the Map," which lasted one season on ABC in 2011.
