The big 100th episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is almost here, and Zap2it has your first look photos at the milestone episode, "500 Years of Solitude."

The episode, written by "TVD" boss ladies Julie Plec and Caroline Dries, is all about our favorite sassy vampire-turned-human Katherine as she fights for her life after suffering from the fall-finale-ending heart attack. Will she make it through the day? We don't know for sure, but we do know the journey getting there will be filled with flashbacks to when Katherine gave up Nadia immediately after giving birth back in 1490. In the present, Nadia has a frightening plan to save Katherine, and forces Stefan and Elena to help her.

While Stefan and Elena help Nadia save Katherine, the rest of the vampires, anchors, hunters and humans have a little party celebrating Katherine's impeding death. Hey, when one person has caused as much damage as Katherine has, can you blame them?

With so many characters together in the Salvatore Mansion, secrets are bound to come out and drama is obviously going to erupt. Will Elena find out about Stefan and Katherine's recent night of passion? How will she take it? According to the official episode synopsis, Elena and Katherine are going to "share an unexpected moment of connection" ... is that something supernatural due to their doppelgänger history, or are the two finally going to bury the hatchet?

Also according to the synopsis, Caroline is going to indulge "in a little scandalous behavior of her own" ... what on earth could that mean? Hit the comments below with your thoughts, and check out the rest of the photos from the 100th episode:
