'The Vampire Diaries' casts 'Twilight's' Charlie Bewley and 'Prison Break's' Camille Guaty

"The Vampire Diaries" has cast Charlie Bewley and Camille Guaty in key roles -- and, as usual, most details are being kept under wraps, but we can sneak you a few secrets.

Bewley, who is best known as a member of the evil "Twilight" Volturi, is sticking with the genre... and with the evil. E! reports that Bewley will play Vaughn, who will first appear in the 13th episode of the season and will recur. As we previously dished, Vaughn is "ruggedly handsome, charming, built, and tough as hell." He's one of The Five hunters, and he's very comfortable with his place at the top of the supernatural food chain. He knows a lot about Damon and uses it to get the upper hand -- and, like everyone else who ever shows up on this show, he's got an opinion on Damon's feelings for Elena.

TVGuide reports that Guaty -- who is best known for roles on "Prison Break," "The Chicago Code," and "The Nine" -- will play Caitlin, who also shows up in episode 413. She's a woman from Shane's past who has a profound and surprising impact on him, and she'll help shed some light on his motivations. We've got a feeling Shane's creepy tale about the immortal Silas might offer some clues as to how Caitlin will factor in to the story.
