the-vampire-diaries-season-5-finale-promo.jpg After Thursday (May 8) night's extremely heartbreaking and shocking death -- RIP Stefan Salvatore (!) -- many fans were wondering where "The Vampire Diaries" could possibly go next without one third of the original love triangle at the heart of the series.

With the Season 5 finale airing next week, it was an easy assumption that The CW series would focus on mourning the loss of one of their own, but based on the (weirdly upbeat?) promo for "Home," now we're not so sure.

In the promo, Damon reveals his big plan for saving the whole town of Mystic Falls from their new Traveler residents is to ... blow it up. Yup. Blow up the entire town. There's no way that can go wrong, right?

But seriously, where's Stefan? Where's Bonnie? Where's Enzo? Is the Other Side disintegrating quicker than we thought, and we're going to have to say goodbye to those three souls early in the hour? Or is their story line about saving the Other Side or coming back to life too spoilery to include in the promo?

Either way, not mentioning Stefan or showing anyone mourning their friends seems a little ... strange. Especially since this promo first aired immediately after the scene in which Stefan died. It was a little jarring, to say the least.
