'The Voice': Blake Shelton talks how Shakira and Usher have changed since blind auditions
For fans of "The Voice," an added bonus to Season 4 has been watching first-time coaches Shakira and Usher settle into their groove and really find their coaching style. In advance of Monday's (June 10) live semi-finals, fellow coach Blake Shelton sat down with Christina Milian, the show's social media correspondent, to dish on how his rivals have changed over the course of the season.
"Shakira was, like, pregnant during the blind auditions and now she's not," Shelton teased before getting serious. "I think what I've noticed more than anything is the passion, a little bit of desperation, and I know exactly how they're feeling. I'm feeling it now, too. We all do as coaches, hopefully, by this point in the competition."
Shelton explains where that desperation comes from, saying, "You are desperate for people to want to love your contestants. I don't think it really hit Shakira or Usher until the last couple weeks when they started seeing some of them go away."
Milian also grills Shelton on why he thinks 16-year-old wunderkind Danielle Bradbery is so important to the show and whether he's planning on a three-peat win this season. Be sure to check out the video above and don't miss the live semi-finals, airing tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
