'The Voice': Briana Cuoco, 'Big Bang Theory's' Kaley Cuoco's sister, steps into the spotlight
It can't be easy to be the younger sister of the star of TV's biggest comedy, especially if you have show business aspirations of your own, but for Briana Cuoco, sister of "Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco, it's about to get a whole lot easier.
Briana, who's been working as her famous sibling's personal assistant, stepped into her own spotlight on Monday's (Sept. 30) episode of "The Voice," as she took the stage and scored in Season 5's blind auditions. With her sister backstage rooting her on, she showed off her vocal ability with Lady Gaga's "You and I."
At the onset, she seemed incredibly nervous and it showed in her vocal. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't seem to be enough to get the coaches to turn. For a bit, it seemed as though Briana might be turned away. And then she began to belt.
Immediately, coach Christina Aguilera hit her button. For the remainder of the performance, it seemed as though Xtina would be the only coach to turn, until the very last second, when CeeLo Green threw himself into the race. The two squabbled over Briana, while Kaley adorably freaked out backstage, until the aspiring singer made her decision. "I am going to choose ... girl power!" she declared, pointing to Christina. Just like that, we're pretty sure Briana's days as a personal assistant are probably over.
Can we talk about how sweet it was to see Kaley supporting her sister? From her interview comments ("I've been waiting for something like this for so long for her. She's deserved this for her whole life.") and her excitement once she returned backstage ("Christina? Are you kidding me? We used to listen to 'Genie in a Bottle'!"), it was really fun to see her reactions. That's some awesome sisterly love right there.
Do you think Briana will become a star in her own right?
